    Summary of the course

Handling information in care settings is a big responsibility.

There is a lot of information to document about every individual in a care setting and this is held in different files and reports.

The information recorded about the individual is personal and private to that individual, and so it is very important that these documents are handled with care. These are legal documents and need to be completed, stored and shared by following agreed ways of working and legal requirements.

In this course, you will learn about the legislation that relates to the recording, storage and sharing of information in care settings.

You will also develop your understanding of the reasons why it is important to have secure systems in place for recording and storing an individual’s information and how you can access guidance and advice about handling that information in your care setting.

You will also understand what to do and the actions to take if you have any concerns or are worried about recording, storing and sharing information.
